The Year 2021's Achievements and Challenges

By the end of 2021, I had acquired a number of life lessons that had a significant impact on me, which I had inherited from a range of events. Personally, I set some good goals at the start of the year, but the challenges that they bring cannot be overstated.

At first, it was despair and failures, which I had already proved. They've all steered me in the right direction. In 2021, It was a year of employment, self-study, travel, and personal growth. The most important thing I accomplished that year was create relationships with culture, tourism, and intellectual development, as well as work hard, reading and writing a lot. The level of reading I achieved last year was higher than the year before, and I intend to double that amount and read more books in the coming year to extend my critical thinking, God willing.

I devised and began executing visual media training as Abdirashid. I specialize in editing and graphic design, and I taught myself how to do these things at home. I've taken advantage of key life courses, and I'm confident they'll help me along the way. One of the courses I certified that year was Monitoring and Evaluation in Durable Solutions. I also obtained a second higher education degree, but the celebration was postponed for a year and a half due to Covid-19. Finally, thanks to God, I was able to go and receive a Master of Diplomacy and International Relations degree. Thank God, I was able to accomplish my master's degree.

Personally, I've had the opportunity to work on important projects, and I'm glad to have contributed significantly to the country's progress and restoration. I'd like to highlight my contributions to the introduction and development of The National Durable Solutions Strategy (NDSS) 2020-2024. Covid-19's impacts on socioeconomic impact and other activities are being investigated.

Other work in the field of reconciliation that I've been involved in over the last year has piqued my interest, and I've joined a team working on these tasks. As their communication expert, I was tasked with working on a mission jointly conducted by the Government of Somalia and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). In the way, I encountered sibling clans in Defow and Kabaxley who have been warring for nearly ten years. Where I have a firsthand understanding of the process of reconciliation and peacebuilding through reconciliation between warring factions, it will be easier for the Somali people to find a long-term solution. I gained valuable lessons about peace and problem-solving in the process.

In 2021, I had the opportunity to meet and speak with IDPs and returnees during my work. The lack of water, health, education, housing, and basic necessities were some of the things that touched me the most, but the point is that our people are resilient people who believe in God's destiny; hope is not negative, but the efforts of these people to work together are vital. Entrepreneurs, academics, and government officials to assist our citizens in working and creating a healthy, educated, and productive society.

My visits to the provinces of our country have provided me with a wonderful experience in the locations I've visited. The cities I saw were incredible and fascinating, and I never tire of seeing them. Jowhar, Dhusamareb, Kismayo, and Baidoa are cities I visited last year or visited on business, and they all left a lasting impression on me. I've been to several of the cities mentioned above, including Baidoa Bay, Jowhar River Crisis, and Dhusamareb Traditional Tourism Park, which I visited on my travels. Kismayo is a city I enjoy spending time in and visit frequently. It was my eighth time there. I was able to see some of the city's most famous sights, including Kismayo's long shoreline and the Goobweyn tourist hub. Overall, the trip was enjoyable, and the private meeting with new acquaintances provided an opportunity for practical experience sharing.

I wish myself and every one a good new year, the best of luck, and many accomplishments. I wish you all a prosperous year of experience, education, health, and personal objectives that help people, country, and family in the year 2022.
