The Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development of the Federal Government of Somalia, H. E, Mohamud Abdirahmaan Beenabeena opened a meeting on the Verification of the National Monitoring and Evaluation Process in Mogadishu.

This meeting to confirm the national monitoring and evaluation process was attended by the Minister of Planning, the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation and Sustainable Solutions, Ms. Zahra Abdi Mohamed, the directors of the government at both levels, federal level, regional government and senior staff.

One of the main objectives discussed in the meeting was to find a national monitoring and evaluation system that will be used to obtain accurate and complete information on the projects and programs of the Government and its partners based on the 9th National Development Plan and can be used by the various partners and stakeholders concerned with the implementation of the 9th National Development Plan at the federal, regional and international levels.

Director Zahra Abdi described the steps she went through to prepare the national monitoring and evaluation process which is of great importance to the country, and to confirm the official information as we get it to base the decision taken by the government. Getting official information about the customs that are being implemented in the country is a good and progressive step.

Minister Mohamud gave examples of the general goals of the national monitoring and evaluation process.

“The overall goal of the National Monitoring and Evaluation System is to have a system that is unified and is used to monitor and evaluate projects implemented throughout our country and is carried out by both levels of government such as the federal level and the regional government level and also the international partners that support Somalia.The implementation of the national monitoring and evaluation process is leading to take decisions based on official information: To know the successes and challenges of the 9th National Development Plan (NDP) projects, it strengthens the relationship between the partners, with “Government organizations, civil society organizations, and international partners” said Minister Abdirahman.

The process of national monitoring and evaluation will lead, if implemented, to obtain information on the various projects in the country that interact with the national development plan 9th-NDP.

Ministry of Planning FGS hosts a meeting with the Committee of finance, budget, planning and accountability.

The heads of the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development of the Federal Government of Somalia held a meeting in Mogadishu with the Committee on Finance, Budget, Planning and Accountability of Government Agencies of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia. This meeting was attended by the Minister of Planning, H.E Mohamud A.
